Recently, 8 departments including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Natural Resources, and the Ministry of Commerce jointly issued the "Work Plan for Stabilizing Growth in the Nonferrous Metals Industry (2025—2026)" (hereinafter referred to as the "Work Plan"), which clearly puts forward the development goals of the nonferrous metals industry in the next two years. Among them, Nickel Alloy, as an important segment of high-end nonferrous metals, will usher in policy dividends and embark on a new chapter of high-quality development. The core goals of the "Work Plan" are clear, helping the nickel alloy industry transform towards High-end, Green-oriented, and Digitalized development, and consolidating the foundation for the industry's development.

The "Work Plan" focuses on implementing the spirit of the Central Economic Work Conference and the requirements of the National 2035 Long-Term Goal Outline, closely connects with policies such as the implementation plan for carbon peaking in the nonferrous metals industry and the implementation guidelines for digital transformation, and combines the research on the "15th Five-Year Plan" for the industry's development. It clarifies the core development goals for 2025—2026: the added value of the nonferrous metals industry will grow at an average annual rate of about 5%, the output of ten nonferrous metals will grow at an average annual rate of about 1.5%, the supply capacity of high-end products will continue to increase, and the level of green, low-carbon and digital development will be continuously improved.

As a core material in fields such as high-end equipment manufacturing, energy and chemical industry, and aerospace, nickel alloy, with its excellent properties such as high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance and high strength, is a strategic resource supporting the safety of the national high-end industrial chain, and its development has attracted key attention from the "Work Plan". Industry insiders analyzed that the implementation of the "Work Plan" will further optimize the development environment of the nickel alloy industry, promote the industry's transformation towards high-end, green and digitalization, and at the same time guide enterprises to increase R&D investment, break through core technological bottlenecks, improve the supply capacity of high-end products, and ease the situation of domestic high-end nickel alloy relying on imports.

In addition, the goal of regenerated metal output exceeding 20 million tons proposed in the "Work Plan" will also promote the nickel alloy industry to build a green circular development model, encourage enterprises to increase R&D on recycled nickel resource recovery and utilization technologies, reduce raw material costs, reduce carbon emissions, and achieve a win-win situation of ecological and economic benefits. The person in charge of a leading domestic nickel alloy enterprise said that they will actively respond to the policy orientation, focus on high-end product R&D and green production, help achieve the industry's stable growth goal, and provide material support for the development of the national high-end manufacturing industry.

Industry experts predict that under the dual effects of policy empowerment and downstream demand pull, the domestic nickel alloy industry will maintain a steady growth trend in the next two years, the industry concentration is expected to further improve, and a good pattern of "policy guidance, enterprise leadership, innovation-driven and green development" will be gradually formed.
