Hastelloy B-2 (UNS N10665, W.Nr 2.4617) is a high-performance nickel-molybdenum solid solution strengthened alloy, specifically designed for extreme reducing corrosion environments. With ultra-low carbon and silicon content, it effectively avoids grain-boundary carbide precipitation, significantly improving weldability and post-weld corrosion resistance—solving the core pain points of traditional nickel-molybdenum alloys in harsh reducing media.
This alloy boasts exceptional corrosion resistance in reducing environments, especially in hydrochloric acid of all concentrations and temperatures, as well as sulfuric acid, acetic acid, phosphoric acid, and other aggressive media. It also exhibits excellent resistance to chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking, pitting, and crevice corrosion, maintaining stable mechanical properties at continuous service temperatures up to 480°C.
Hastelloy B-2 pipes and tubes are available in seamless, welded, and ERW types, with precise dimensional control and smooth inner/outer surfaces. They have good formability and weldability, suitable for high-pressure, high-corrosion pipeline systems. Widely used in chemical processing, wet metallurgy, pharmaceutical, petrochemical, and environmental engineering, they are the preferred material for acid transmission, reactor piping, and acid leaching equipment.
